News from Cassie Tolvstad – Youth Coordinator

Scrip Program: Do you grocery shop at Festival? Do you fill up your gas tank or grab a coffee, donut, and other groceries at Kwik Trip? If so, I want to extend the invitation and encourage all youth parents to participate in the scrip program as much as possible. If you need to pre-order some cards, please feel free to send me an e-mail by Sunday evening so I can place the order on Monday mornings. The Rink family is signed up to sell scrip this Sunday, April 8th.

Easter Breakfast: We have decided not to have an Easter breakfast this year. April is an extremely busy month and in effort to keep our fundraising efforts about quality instead of quantity, we are going to not serve an Easter breakfast. We can talk about having a breakfast sometime next year around Palm Sunday. We are potentially looking at having a Burracho’s Fundraising night to replace the Easter Breakfast. Stay tuned for more information!

Big Boar Fundraiser: We will be having a pulled pork dinner sale on April 30th hosted by Big Boar Catering out of West Salem. I will have tickets printed by Friday for youth to pick up and sell. Dinners will include pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, and beans for $9.00/meal. If each student sells 20 tickets, we will profit anywhere from $600-$900($3.00 per meal). Big Boar will be at the church from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.. Please mark your calendars and sell as many tickets as you can.

Holmen’s Hope: It is Halfway Creek’s turn to host the Holmen’s Hope meal on Tuesday, April 25th. There has been a sign-up circulating at church for desserts as well as volunteers to help serve. I encourage all of our youth to help in any way that we can to build community and help our neighbors in Christ.

Cans 4 Kids: Rich Pedretti and myself will be taking in a load of cans on Saturday, April 15th around 8 a.m. if any youth would like to stop by to help load/unload cans!

Next month, in May, the newsletter goes electronic.

Call the office 526-3701 or sign up at church to have yours mailed or to pick it up at church.  The choice is yours.
